Dr. Katie Campbell is a research fellow in archaeology at King’s College, University of Cambridge specialising in the urban archaeology of historic periods in Central Asia and the Caucasus. She worked in the commercial archaeology sector for several years before returning to the University of Cambridge, and is now using various sources of field data to understand changes in cities between the 11th and 15th centuries AD. Current and recent collaborative projects include excavations at Otrar in Kazakhstan, Merv and Dandanakan in Turkmenistan, Barda in Azerbaijan and Grakliani Gora in Georgia.
